You will notice this lettering style is used on the majority of headstones in any cemetery for it's classic, dignified appearance. The name of the lettering is "Classic Roman 2." This style places the letters inside of a "letter box" which gives the granite a "two-toned" type of appearance.

This is the same as the above, the differences being the "letter box" has been eliminated and the carving into the stone is not as deep as if used in a letter box. This client chose to add a thin line around the letters as an accent.

This style of lettering is the exact opposite of the standard type. The outline of the letters are carved into granite leaving the center of the letters untouched. The high gloss polished has been removed to accent the letters.
